Fitness Success Stories
Recruit Nick Davies(55).Started at Cat Smiley Fat Camp over two years ago, recruit at The Original Boot Camp ever since. “The most challenging step for me was the first one – the decision to start exercising.”
How has your life improved since you started The Original Boot Camp and exercising consistently? I have achieved a net weight reduction of about 40 pounds, and have lost many inches off of my chest, waist and legs. I have significantly improved my physical condition, and remediation of some old injuries. It is an unfortunate but unavoidable reality how we react to other people based in part on how they look. Since I shed the weight, improved my posture and increased the strength of the muscles that move and carry me around, people react to me entirely differently than the overweight couch potato I used to be. Not only is this apparent on the street or in social settings, but it is also in business meetings.
I feel much better about myself. I look and feel healthier, sleep better and get more enjoyment out of the physical things I do. Both my skiing and my squash game have vastly improved and working out has become something I enjoy, rather than something I must do.
What helps you stay focused in your workouts? I asked myself what my true definition of “mentally drained” was and what I could do to address these issues. I have found that exercising after a mentally tough day is a good thing. As soon as I start to warm up, I become focused on my exercise and leave everything else behind. Exercise really helps me get rid of the mental stress I had built up during the day.
